“One of the best documentary movies I’ve seen. So good, you don’t notice it’s a documentary. The animation elevates it to artistic heights , while distinguishing it from other documentaries which normally escape to the cheesy “docudrama”. Deeply moving story of a true hero of humanity. People like Karski allow us to believe in humanity despite the faulty nature of human beings. The most important message is very simple-we can chose whether to be good people or evil.”

“My wife and I just got home from watching your film @ Luna Theatre and we loved it. Karski was already somewhat a role model for me, and now more so than ever. The complexity of being this noble, good looking, educated man, mixed with his incredible sensitivity and empathy followed by the tragedy of having seen such horrors and yet no one in the West believing him, or if they did believe him, refusing to do anything about it. You can see he took this burden with him all the way to the grave. “Właśnie wróciłam z kina z filmu “Karski i Władcy …” siedzieliśmy jak trusie w kinie, mimo, ze historia Karskiego tak nam znana a jednak sposób pokazania jego życia i misji tak wciągający, że dech nam zaparło – w bardzo dobrym tempie i bez patosu. Piękny film, gratulacje! Niezwykłe zdjęcia archiwalne i piękna animacja. Przecież tyle się już zdjęć z wojny i z getta oglądało i wydawać by się mogło; cóż nowego…a jednak sposób przekazania tych zdjęć w masie jest niesamowity. Brawo! We sat and watched it as quiet as mice, even though Karski’s story is well-known to us. But the way his life and mission was shown was so fascinating that we held our breaths – very well paced and with no pathos. A beautiful film, congratulations! After all, we’ve seen so many war and ghetto images and you’d think: what’s new… however, the method of delivering the images all at once made for incredible viewing. Bravo! I thought that I knew the Jan Karski story well. I cheered the making of the film from the sidelines and believed I knew what to expect. And now I feel that it’s not a film about a hero but about humanity, about Jan, whose curse was his amazing memory and high morals. The clarity of his expression, feelings and emotions he emanates, despite the passage of years… And when I saw the terrible war-time images I felt that everything in life is relative. When I was going home on this beautiful spring evening with my husband, going through Wroclaw, I asked how many days and how many bodies would we have to see on the sidewalks to stop paying attention and think only of ourselves. And the answer I got is quite possibly true. Reflections? Nothing’s changed. Syria is a good example. But the man called Jan Karski is called something else today. Thank you for the film. Thank you for inviting me to see this fantastic film. This is a new dimension; a type of documentary that never existed before. The film inspired my mum to (finally!) take out documents about my grandmother, who saved Jews during WW2… She’s my very own Karski. J Joanna B
